  • CHRISTMAS DINNER DAY!

Thu 21 Dec 2023 Mrs Bates

WOW...a massive thank you to Steph and the team of ladies in the kitchen. Christmas dinner today was beautiful, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself serving dinner to our wonderful children and staff.

The children were impeccable today. Their manners were impressive and everyone was polite and respectful. They all wished the kitchen staff a very Merry Christmas and many came back to the hatch to say thank you and comment on how delicious it was.

We also had Mr Alistair Parnell in school today playing his Saxophone for an hour and a half over lunch. The hall was full of expertise and Christmas music - it was a truly awe-inspiring moment to watch! Thank you, Alistair and please do come back next year.

  • School Choir

Thu 21 Dec 2023 Mrs Bates and Mrs Parnell

This morning, Mrs Parnell, the choir and I were meant to be walking to sing with all the people who visit the Dyson Centre for Age Concern. Sadly, the high winds and risky conditions, meant we had to cancel. However, the choir met for a final end of year discussion and Christmassy photo of them all.

Mrs Parnell commented on our school newsfeed:

At the risk of repeating myself, I am particularly impressed with this current group of choir children and their ability and enthusism. Long may this continue. Have a lovely Christmas everyone.🤶🎄🤶🎄 Mrs Parnell

    I couldn't agree more!

    Well done, everyone

  • "Bundle of Joy"

Wed 20 Dec 2023 Mrs Bates

Key Stage 1 and Reception's nativity - "A Bundle of Joy"

A HUGE well done to approx. 90 children across Reception and Year 1 today and yesterday as they performed their Christmas show. It certainly was a 'Bundle of Joy'. From the grumpy donkey (Grumble) to all the other characters and narrators the children were great!

We also had shepherds, kings, camels, angels, sheep, stars, travellers, inkeepers and (of course) Mary and Joseph!

There were several narrators and characters away due to illness, but the show must go on! They had lots of lines to learn and songs to sing and they were a delight to watch.

We are a very 'Inclusive yet Individual' school and all children took part. Some children had a little water, explored the audience and one child even sat with the grown ups to watch! That's what we do here, and we celebrate our children and their differences. They all took part, celebrated their successes and achievements and SMILED! :)

Some children were star struck and I see why...because they are brilliant!

A great show, super costumes and all supported by our great team of staff. Thank you to Mrs Barrowcliffe for putting it all together.

Our link governor for Music stated:

Overall, the performance did well to evidence a presence of the arts and more specifically the use of music throughout the classroom and as part of the learning within KS1. The opportunity for children to use their voices, harness the skills of learning songs, melody, and rhythm as part of a showcase for parents/carers was evident. The performance gave the children an opportunity to be introduced to an environment that helps to grow their sense of self-confidence that is only boosted by recognition from parents/carers throughout and from words spoken at the end by the Headteacher. The performance is sure to contribute to the children’s sense of achievement in a perfect way at the end of the term.

Well done, everyone! Sleep well! Two more days to go!

    Mrs Bates :)

  • Choir Performance

Tue 19 Dec 2023 Mrs Bates

WOW, what a super choir performance this afternoon in the hall.

I say this every year, but this event is one of my favourites throughout the school year, as I love to see the dedication and professionalism from the children who choose to take part.

The choir is made up of approx 40-50 year 5 and 6 children and the talent continues to nurture, develop and grow (under Mrs Parnell's expert direction and expertise).

Well done children, you were OUTSTANDING! Many goose pimple moments and I did shed a tear at one point secretly! Thank you for making my day.

    Mrs Bates👏🤶

  • Football Update

Tue 19 Dec 2023 Mrs Pailing

Yesterday, after school, we had the pleasure of hosting Brinsley Primary school in the 7x7 District league.⚽

The game started out with both teams playing good passing football, both defending well, but it was Greasley to break the deadlock. From then on Greasley kept up with great attacking football to come in at half time 8-0 up. The second half saw more great teamwork from Greasley and more goals coming from some super shots. Brinsley worked hard to put the ball past our keeper who was unlucky as the ball rebounded off the crossbar and deflected into the back of the net.

The final whistle saw Greasley Beauvale come home 16-1 winners👏

Well done to all that played - it was an absolute pleasure to watch.

Thank you to all our supporters,

    Mrs Pailing. ⚽

  • Mansfield Palace Theatre Panto Trip - KS 2

Mon 18 Dec 2023 Mrs Bates

What a fantastic morning with our Key stage 2 children at the Mansfield Palace Theatre watching Beauty and The Beast. Not only did the children have a fantastic fun time, they also learnt about theatre etiquette and the performing arts.

We were very impressed with the children. We are a very inclusive yet individual school and took all of our children. They all coped and managed in their own way and took a lot away from the experience.

Thank you to all the staff for preparing for the trip and to the parents for their support - we could not have done this without their help..."OH NO WE COULDN'T!"

  • Greasley Beauvale Children as Derby County Mascots

Sun 17 Dec 2023 Mrs Bates

This weekend, I was so proud to hear that some of our children, also footballers for Moorgreen Colts FC, were chosen as Mascots for Derby County FC.

Looking at the photos, most are Greasley children (or ex-pupils). What an exciting opportunity!

    What a great example of:

    Active Body and Active Mind

    Nurture, Develop and Grow

    Believe in Yourself

    Wonder and Curiosity

Well done for representing the school, and your team, so well. Thank you, children!

    Mrs Bates
