Mrs L Clarke and Mrs Bailey are the class teachers until Mrs Bowen returns from her maternity leave at the end of September. Mrs L Clarke teaches on Monday and Tuesday. Mrs Bailey teaches on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Welcome to the Autumn Term!

We are so excited to see you all in September ready for your start to Year 2! We can't wait to get to know you all!

In our English lessons, we will start by using the book, 'A walk in London' as our focus. We will be working on different sentence types, verbs, adjectives and nouns. Throughout our unit we will be developing our skills to write a diary entry and postcard about our fictional visit to London.

In maths, we will be working on place value and addition and subtraction.

In science, we will be learning all about everyday materials. We will be describing their properties and choosing appropriate materials for different types of objects.

In RE, we will be looking at Teachers and Leaders in religions. This will include exploring what leaders do, why they are important, and exploring some religious leaders such as a Muslim Imam, a Catholic Priest and a Jewish Rabbi.

In PSHE, our first unit is called 'Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM)'. We will look at how working together is important and helpful in day to day life. 

In History, we will be looking at events beyond living memory. This will include, The Plague, The Gunpowder Plot and The Great Fire of London. We also have 2 special visitors to look forward to!!

In our computing lessons, we will spend time getting used to using the Chromebooks and then start some work on Coding!

In PE, we will working on our personal skills and will also have a session from Coach Emma.
