  • Head Teacher's Blog

Fri 28 Apr 2023 Mrs Bates

Such a busy week/day in school for the following reasons:

    - Lead up to KS1 and KS2 SATS

    - Preparing for the Coronation (and of course the Great Beauvale Bake Off!)

    - Teacher interviews today

    - Awaiting the results of the funniest class in the community, area, region and beyond ... how exciting! We are currently in the lead, keep voting

I can't wait to share further updates you :)

Have a great Bank Holiday and a reminder that we return to school on Tuesday,

  • VOTE FOR GREASLEY

Fri 21 Apr 2023 Mrs Bates and Miss Dyer

Good day and welcome back to a busy summer term.

As previously shared by Miss Dyer, on Red Nose Day, Indigo 1 entered the Britain’s Funniest Class competition with Beano using some of the jokes they came up with for the joke off at school.

To the school's delight, we made it to the final with Oliver’s joke! 10 classes across Britain have been chosen to be in the final, and we are so excited to be one of them.

If we win, the children receive a Beano book, a free Beano subscription, we get a Beano assembly, and the children get an illustration of the whole class in a Beano comic!

We are all striving to win, or do the very best that we can, and we would really appreciate if everyone could take the time to vote for the class joke. Our joke has now gone to the public vote, which went liver a few weeks now. This can be found using the following hyper lin:

You can also vote on several devices and numerous times :)  The race is on!! We have been at the top of the leader board many times, but one school in London is on our tail :)

Please help us to do the very best that we can. Thanks in advance for your support (and spreading the word!)

The children have homework to make their votes and encourage others to too :)

    Have a good weekend, everyone!

    Warm regards,

    Mrs Bates and Miss Dyer

  • Cross Country Update

Thu 20 Apr 2023 Mrs Parnell

What an unbelievable morning we spent at the Cross Country  at The Florence Nightingale Academy this morning. 🏃🏼‍♂️

I am so proud of every single runner that came with us. There were many smiles, so much cheering and some super performances.

🏃🏼‍♀️ This was the first year that the year 3 children had been able to come with us. A huge well done to all of them as they all competed brilliantly and more importantly - they loved it!

A special mention should be made of Ava who won the year 3/4 girls' race and Thomas who won the year 5/6 boys' race. What an achievement from a field of around 80 runners.

Many thanks to all of our very vocal supporters. You were amazing! ⭐

At the end of the morning, there were medals presented for children who got 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in each race and then the shields were presented to the schools who won the trophy for the overall points score in both the boy's and girl's races.

We are very pleased to say that Greasley came 2nd overall in the boy's races.
