I was appointed as a co-opted governor because I have lived in Newthorpe for 40 years. During this time, I worked in the local education service and when I retired being a governor provided a great opportunity to put something back into my local community and to work on behalf of its children. Because of my background in education my link work at the school often focuses on teaching, learning, the curriculum and assessment of children’s progress.
