Mrs Bailey - Marathon runner

We are very proud to say that, yesterday, Mrs Bailey ran the London Marathon. She ran the whole distance in 4 hours and 49 minutes and was tracked by many staff members, children and parents using apps. We were luckily to have captured the images of her crossing the finishing line and that huge smile (and mixed emotions) afterwards.

This has been a huge achievement for Mrs Bailey and she is in school today and keeping on her feet moving. She is proudly wearing her medal and inspiring many children and staff with her stories and memories. It was heart warming to hear her speak in assembly this morning to the whole school.

She decided to run the 26.2 miles in memory of her father in law, Julian, who sadly passed away suddenly in 2022. All money raised will be donated to the British Heart Foundation in memory of Julian. If you would like to donate to this worthy cause, please use the link below.

We are very proud of Mrs Bailey. We think she has done exceptionally well over the last year and achieved many of our Rainbow Values along the way (not just yesterday, but after months of hard training).

Please join us in congratulating her, and please donate if you feel you can spare a few pennies. Thank you. Well done, Mrs Bailey. You are now the second Greasley staff member to have completed the London marathon following Mrs Bold, who achieved this 11 years ago.

Both staff members have entered again for next year - I wish them all the luck in gaining an entry place, running again and achieving new PBs.
