Week Ending 22nd November 2019
This week, the following children have received a Head Teacher’s Award:
Jacob Biggs – Red 2 – For being SO kind! It’s been noted that on three different occasions, in one morning, he had helped three different children. He helped someone take off their coat and hang it on the right peg, another to line up and the third child during an activity on the carpet. He is unaware of his kindness due to his genuine nature and the fact that he is being SO kind all the time naturally. We are very proud of his start to reception and Greasley Beauvale Primary School.
Current attendance results are as follows:
1st place goes to Blue 1 and Orange 1 for 100% attendance.
2nd place goes to Yellow 1 for 99.3% attendance.
This week has been a busy week in school. The week started off with the year 3 trip to Brackenhurst. I am told that the children had a wonderful time and learnt a lot to reinforce their topic work.
The rest of the week has been busy, whilst the children in years 1 to 6 have been completing their autumn term assessments. We have been really proud of the perseverance and resilience that the children have demonstrated this week and how committed they have been to their learning.
Following the marking and evaluating of the assessments, the teachers will then write a report for each child and send them home on Monday 2nd December in preparation for the Parents’ evening on the 3rd and 4th. Letters about these appointments have been sent home this week so please reply with your chosen dates and times as soon as possible to receive an appropriate appointment.
As a school, we are trying to be careful with the budget and one of the ways of doing this is to reduce the amount we spend on paper and photocopying. As a result, we are trying (wherever possible) to ‘go paperless’. Signing up to Class Dojo and Parent Mail is a very useful way of receiving key information and updates (e.g. key dates for your diary that have been sent out as we approach Christmas). Please ensure that all parents and carers are signed up and that way everyone in the household receives the information they need. Thanks for your support with this in advance.
Have a great weekend.
Warm regards,
Michelle Bates
