This week, Jessica is spending the week with class 9 and Wilf (in his new school uniform) is spending the week with Class 2. They both had 96% attendance.
Diary of the week:
It has been great to see the sun shining this week, I love to see and hear the children playing out on the field. Phonics screening has taken place this week in year 1 and they have done so well. I have to do random ‘spot checks’, as does Mrs Barrowcliffe and Mrs Bates. We have been completely blown away by how brilliant the children have been. We will not know what the pass rate is for some time, but that does not matter, we know that the children all did their best.
I have started to read the reports for the children. The majority of children have had such a positive year and I am so pleased with the super attitude to learning, I really enjoy writing on the report of every child, children who I feel I know quite well now!
As you will imagine, it is a strange time for me at the moment. I started to show potential candidates around this week, for the head teacher position. Showing people around really does remind me what a super place this is and how fabulous the staff and children are. We really are very lucky. I asked the children on Monday, if there was anything, I needed to mention to the new candidates. They said that they wanted the new head teacher to continue with gold book, learn to use the puppets and have a good heart. That sounds good enough to me!
Talking of gold book, it was great to see the children receiving their awards this morning, once again supported by many of you in the ‘Royal Box.’
I am busily planning the 100% attendance event. We cannot get a bus to take us bowling, so Mrs Williams has been secretly planning – will let you know what this looks like very soon!
Have a great weekend and the very best of wishes to all of the fathers! Make sure you have a nice relaxing Sunday!
