OPAL update

So, today saw the launch of part two of our Opal journey.

The play team have now completed their Rapid Risk training which means that we can begin to have even more resources available for the children to use.

Today we introduced pallets and small tyres. It was lovely to see so many children using their imagination and working together. In assembly this morning the children helped to identify the risks and the benefits of using these resources.

We also had a look at some French Skipping games and learnt how to play "Rock, Paper, Scissors, Showdown. It was lovely to see the children then having a go at these without needing adult support. We have table tennis tables on both playgrounds which may also be used at play time. Please make sure that children do not climb on these at the start and end of the day.

We now have a new Bingo card with more resources that we need to build up our play offer. On top of this we are looking for scooters, bikes, go-carts and helmets so that we can introduce a wheeled toy zone.

We have also created an Amazon Wish list if anyone knows any companies that may wish to sponsor us. The link can be found below:

A huge well done to our lunchtime play team who work hard to ensure that the children have fun and play safely every day. We look forward to seeing what the children can create over the rest of this term and into next year.

Many thanks,

The Opal team.
