Mrs Bates

Week Ending 26th November 2021

Classes currently in-line with national averages (96%) are as follows:

Red 2, Yellow 1, Yellow 2, Blue 1 and Blue 2

Head Teachers’ Awards this week have been awarded to:

Aaron – Violet 1 – for a very emotive piece of writing, which used rhetorical questions, empathy and imagery. Really impressive and left me with goose bumps and a lump in my throat. Well done for overcoming your obstacles with writing. Keep up the hard work and keep the passion going. I could tell you loved this piece and was very proud of yourself.

Following our inspection on the 2nd and 3rd November 2021, we are very proud to announce that inspectors judged our school to be GOOD in all areas with aspects of OUTSTANDING in Personal Development. We are proud of the report, and grades, as it demonstrates how hard everyone has worked over the past few years. In 2019, Ofsted produced their new Education Inspection Framework, and since then we have been challenged with the global ‘Covid’ pandemic!

We are delighted by the developments made by all of us over the years, and the feedback. It has been our pleasure this week to share the Ofsted report with you as it demonstrates the dedicated work of the whole staff team, governors, children and parents.

Throughout the two-day inspection, the senior leadership team, curriculum leaders and governors received more detailed feedback from the Ofsted team (beyond the finalised report). They confirmed the judgements that we had already made about our school, and it was agreed that the leaders know the school well. We were ‘strong’ and ‘solid’ in many areas and the outstanding criteria for the Personal Development judgement was discussed at length. Safeguarding is very well led and managed, and the school promote and prioritise reading from an early stage. The school celebrates diversity and there is a strong sense of mental health and wellbeing. The values of the school underpin policies and practice and the sense of teamwork was clear at all levels.

Thank you for your support over the two-day inspection. Your discussions with inspectors, and views shared through Ofsted’s Parent View consultation, were very much appreciated as it also confirmed what we were saying about our school too.

We are incredibly proud of our school and all the people associated with it. ‘Onwards and upwards’ is now what we firmly believe, and we are determined to keep making developmental changes and improvements.

Have a great weekend everyone!
