Head Teacher's Blog - Hello Yello

Today, Greasley Beauvale Primary School helped spread the word that whatever you're going through, you're not alone with your mental health. To do this, we all wore something yellow and donated to YoungMinds. Everyone joined us by wearing yellow (even some of the parents!) and Rainbow Rewards was brightened up with yellow clothing, hair accessories and more!

Throughout the day, we talked about it being normal to have ups and downs. We've all felt the stress of lockdown; worried about the impact on our families and uncertainty about the future. But it's the little things that have got us through it - the morning walks; singing in the shower; the perfect cuppa; that Netflix show that got us all buzzing and the heart to heart when you were at your wits end.

Things can get better. Saying #HelloYellow this World Mental Health Day is a little thing we can do to make a BIG difference to young peoples' mental health.

Thank you to everyone who took part and donated! By using the Just Giving page that Mrs Clarke set up (Emily Clarke is fundraising for Young Minds Trust (justgiving.com) and the cash donations today, we have already met our target of £500. If anyone would still like to donate then please feel free using the link provided through ParentMail.

Yellow represents sunshine and happiness; we certainly felt that today!

THANK YOU EVERYONE!

What a great week for supporting children and their families. Have a great weekend,

Mrs Bates
