Head Teacher's Blog!

Week Ending 26th March 2019

Following a lovely, sunny bank holiday weekend and a restful Easter for many, the children came back fresh and ready and raring to go. They were enthused about their new topics and learning, and demonstrated drive to work hard and make progress. This week has been about settling back into the summer term, and the children certainly did that and they made us very proud.

This week we had lots of sport taking place. Mr Leyshon took many children to the Cross Country event and I look forward to all of the results to share with you soon as we do not yet know all of the results. I will communicate these with you when I have the news.

On Thursday evening, Glenn also returned to take part in the cup final. His report is as follows:

“I've only just dried out from the game.

We got beat today 3-0, but the team played very well and the score didn't tell the story of the game.

We had 14 shots at goal hitting the woodwork 6 times and we missed a penalty.

They had 4 shots and scored 3 times. Just a little more clinical than us.

Anyway, all the players were gutted about the result, and with me leaving, but it was a great end to the season even still.”

One of the parents watching also commented:

What a cracking bunch of lads, we didn't win but they played their socks off and was great to watch.

A very proud parent ♥

We are very proud of the boys and it was lovely to see Glenn back to take them through their last match under his leadership! Thank you, Glenn.

Next week, I will send out the latest newsletter and on there you will find updates on class swaps for the next academic year, consultation reviews regarding the Rainbow values and vision for the school and the results of the parents’ evening consultation carried out by one of our governors, Mr Manton. Make sure you catch the latest information and remember to always get in touch if you have any further unanswered questions or queries.

Have a great weekend everyone and I look forward already to another super week next week

Warm regards,

Michelle Bates
