Greasley Mourning

As the sad news of the Queen's passing came into school this morning, I knew that the children were going to be respectful, reflective and sensitive.

As a school, we decided to have informal conversations in individual classes initially to gauge the views and feelings of the children. This was also a time to consider the Queen's live and her legacy.

Children talked about the Platinum Jubilee, what they were going to misses, the changes ahead and asked some really sensible questions (some of the answers yet unknown!)

The atmosphere around school was calm and caring (not sombre and sad!)

Later in the day, we then held a whole school assembly where we discussed the Queen respectfully and held a one minute silence to 'think' and reflect.

I was so proud of everyone in Greasley Beauvale today!
