Head Teacher's BLOG

Week Ending 10th June 2022

Head Teachers’ Awards this week have been awarded to:

Harry – Orange 1 – For an absolutely amazing effort with his phonics over the past few weeks, which has resulted in a very positive week with his phonics screening this week. A shining example of ‘believing in yourself’.

Well, what a great way to end the half term holiday with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee last weekend. I hope you all had a great holiday. Thanks to all who came back ready and raring to go for this latter stage of the academic year. It’s going to a cracker!

We can’t wait to share more!

Well done this week to the Year 1 children, who have carried out their phonics screening check. I observed and moderated a few of the checks and the children have performed fantastically and made so much progress with their phonics this year. We are so proud of the children. There will be a few children to sit the check next week, where they have been absent – good luck to those children and well done to the rest.

Well done to all the adults who have worked with the children this year on phonics (including teaching, tutoring and interventions). A huge thanks also to Miss Atamaniuk and Mrs Bold, who have led on phonics (alongside the English Hub) over the past two years to develop phonics within the school. We are seeing great progress being made in Year 1 (and across school).

Happy weekend, everyone!

Warm regards,

Mrs Bates
