Head Teacher's Blog

Week Ending 18th March 2022

Wow, a REALLY busy week in school. The children have completed their spring term assessments and started to show the learning that they have remembered this term and beyond. The NFER tests are carried out in English and maths and then the children also show their writing skills through independent writing. The teachers are currently busy marking the papers and looking at any gaps to inform their planning for the summer term. In the final week of term, teachers will talk through with you your child’s progress and attainment and any targets that they need to work on moving forwards.

Last weekend was very exciting at TEAM GB and we now have two new members of the team…

After my letter last Friday, to parents of Green 2, Baby Bowen arrived early at 37 weeks!! Eeeekk! Mrs Bowen did a day of teaching and marking, and was then in hospital by 7pm. Mason Alexander Bowen entered their world at just after 10pm, weighing in at 5lb 14oz! Mummy and baby are doing very well.

Mrs Bailey and Miss Dobb will now job share within the class, and I know they have already started to settle in well already.

In addition to this great news, Baby Clarke was also born last weekend. Baby Clarke wanted in on the action too and Miss Annie Olivia Clarke entered the world last Sunday morning weighing in at 8lb 7oz. Mrs Clarke and baby are doing well and once again, we cannot wait to see her.

I’m sure you’ll all join me in wishing the families well - I love sharing good news

Warm regards,

Mrs Bates

🔴 Don't forget it's Red Nose Day tomorrow! 🔴

We will be holding a virtual quiz in our classes in the morning and a whole-school 'Joke Off' in the afternoon. If your child has a favourite joke that they'd like to share with their class, that would be fantastic, and a great way to help us support the Comic Relief charity.

If you would like to make any donations, please go to our Just Giving page:

Alternatively, money donations can be brought in tomorrow 😊

Many thanks to those who have already donated!

Look out tomorrow for Greasley Beauvale's funniest jokes post tomorrow on Weduc 👀
