By next Wednesday, you will receive your child’s autumn term report. The one-page profile will give you an insight into your child’s ‘Behaviour and conduct’, ‘Attitude to learning’ and their ‘on-track’ predictions for reading, writing and maths, based on their attainment during the autumn term assessments carried out last week.
What a super ‘Christmassy’ week in school! The week started for me with three mornings at Mansfield Palace Theatre to watch the ‘Sleeping Beauty’ pantomime. What a delight to see the whole school experience the theatre over the three days. A mixture of songs, dancing, acting and ‘The Arts’ finally being celebrated once again in front of the children. It was a delight to join all year groups for this whole-school event throughout the week, and I was proud of the children – the way that they conducted themselves was admirable on the whole. The ice-cream was a great treat too!
Throughout the week, I was also very excited to watch the Year 1 to Year 4 children perform their very own Christmas events. From all four year groups, we were pleased once again to see a selection of Christmas songs, carols and readings. Last year, Christmas was ‘very’ different, and despite Covid still posing its own challenges upon us, this year we have been delighted to open our doors to parents, carers and visitors to join us.
Well done, everyone! It warmed my heart this week to see so many of you perform to an audience, and you all did yourselves proud!
Next week, The Christmas festivities continue, and I look forward to seeing our youngest and oldest children perform their Christmas events. In addition, we have Christmas dinner to look forward to on Thursday and Christmas jumper day on Friday.
Enjoy the weekend everyone! ... one more week to go :)
