Head Teacher's Blog!

Week Ending 12th July 2019

This week, the following children have received a Head Teacher’s Award:

Matthew – Green 2 – For continuing to nurture, develop and grow his writing. Each time he writes, he is considering more and more of the content and presentation – both of which he should be very proud of! Super vocabulary, layout and presentation also.

Ava – Green 2 – For a recount of year 3’s racing team visit. She has included key facts learned through asking questions during the discussion and has taken care to edit and improve her writing in checking time. Well done, Ava!

Emily – Green 2 – For her detailed account. Emily has carefully recounted the main events of the racing team visiting year3. She has taken time to present her writing smartly and independently, check and edit her writing,. Well done, Emily!

Aaron – Green 2 – For his independent writing all about the visitors to tear 3. Aaron included details about the racing team, car and took time to check his spelling and punctuation. Well done, Aaron!

Weekly update…

What a truly busy week…’Aspirations Week’, where the children started to learn about the world of work and what carers and jobs are out for them later in their working life!

There was a jam-packed timetable of carers and jobs …all of which the children thoroughly enjoyed. We saw the following professionals/people talking about and demonstrating their life of work in school…

  • Mechanics
  • Psychiatric nurses
  • Firefighters
  • Musicians
  • Scientists
  • Gardeners
  • Recyclers
  • Authors
  • Artists
  • Super-bikers
  • Archaeologists
  • Virtual reality sessions

In addition, the teachers also ran workshops to provide the children with additional aspirations for the future in the following areas:

  • Food critic
  • Artist
  • Fitness instructor
  • Programmer
  • Athletics
  • Mathematician
  • Cooking
  • Explorer
  • Lifeguard
  • Footballer
  • Illustrator
  • Martial arts
  • Dancer
  • Forensic scientist
  • Language teacher
  • Eco-warriors

In addition, we saw the year 6 children go to the ‘Inside Out’ show, the year 4 children go to the ‘Summer Games’, year 5 visit Hall Park and Blue 2 go the ‘Memory Café’ to sing.

This is what Mrs Parnell had to say about the visit:

“On Tuesday all the children in our singing group along with all children in Blue 2 went to the memory cafe in Eastwood to sing for the people in the cafe. After a fairly long walk we all arrived. The children were extremely excited as it was their first performance as a group together- their first outside the classroom! They had learnt 5 songs to sing and performed brilliantly. The guests were so appreciative and clapped loudly at the end for an encore.

I was incredibly proud to be there with them. They were a real credit to their parents and fabulous ambassadors for our school too. I feel the whole group will now go from strength to strength as we continue throughout next year.

I would like to give a special mention to 6 children who sang a small part on their own. Well done Cory, Elvie, Esme, Emma, Zara and Scarlett - what a super achievement.

Many thanks to the numerous offers of support from our parents too in helping us walk there.”

This week, we also saw children do the Beauvale Got Talent (BGT) auditions and receive their reports and new class teacher notifications.

What a BUSY week! A HUGE thanks to Miss Busy and all the team for arranging such a super week for the children!

Children will be spending time with their new class teacher on Monday and Open Afternoon will take place on Thursday between 2-5pm.

Have a great weekend everyone and I look forward already to another super week next week.

Warm regards,
