Football Match Report-22nd November 2016

Greasley Beauvale v Underwood

The game started at a frantic pace with a number of passes going astray for the Greasley players. The away team were playing the better football and went ahead when a shot was deflected past George Moore, when he had the original shot well covered. Underwood could have easily gone in at half time 3-0 up, but for the heroics of the Greasley keeper.
At half time Greasley made some changes to the team and immediately started playing better football. They had a number of chances to draw level but the away keeper stopped everything.
Underwood scored a second goal against the run of play but Greasley continued to make at least 6 good chances to reduce the deficit.  A great goal from Craig Bailey made it 2-1 and now it was all Greasley. The away keeper must have made 10 great saves to prevent the home team drawing level.  With the last kick of the game Underwood delivered a good free kick into the box which George Moore got a fist to but it dropped to an Underwood player who scored with ease.
Underwood were a big, strong side and deserved their win on their first half performance.
Greasley were far better in the second half and created enough chances to win 2 games, never mind this one. On another day we would have scored 6 but at least the players are getting in the positions to score goals, we just need to convert our chances.  Heads up boys we have a big game on Thursday.
Man of the match for Greasley
