In addition, we’d like to remind you that the final day of the summer term is this Friday at 3:15pm. Children should return to school on Thursday 4th September at 8:45am. Please note that Monday 1st to Wednesday 3rd September are Admin/INSET Days.

As the term draws to a close, it's a perfect time to reflect on some of the wonderful events that have brought our school community together this summer:

🏃‍♂️ Sports Day was a triumph—full of impressive teamwork, determination, and sunshine!

🎭 Our End of Key Stage Concerts showcased incredible talent, with children performing with confidence and pride.

🏫 Open Afternoon offered a lovely opportunity to welcome you into school and share the learning journeys your children have taken this term. Thank you to all the families who attended—the place was buzzing!

🏅 Winning District Sports (again!) was a brilliant achievement we can all be proud of.

🎒 We had successful residentials for Years 2, 3, and 6 to Wollaton Park, Lea Green, and Edale—plus a shout-out to Year 4, who visited Castleton in the spring.

🌈 We celebrated a whole year of Rainbows Nursery being open.

Yet, we’re not quite finished! There’s still more to look forward to before the summer break:

🎓 The much-anticipated Year 6 Leavers’ Event, where we’ll celebrate the memories of our outgoing pupils.

🌟 Always Child Afternoon, a cherished time to honour the unique spirit of one child from each class, carefully chosen by their teacher.

🎶 A final Choir Performance, sure to leave us humming through the holidays.

🏆 The prestigious Governors’ Awards, recognising outstanding contributions and progress from children across all year groups.

As the year ends, we also say farewell to some cherished members of staff. Mr Khan, Miss Leame, Mrs Shaw, and Mrs Parnell will be leaving us on Friday for pastures new. We thank them deeply for their dedication and wish them the very best in their next chapters.

We also bid farewell to our supply staff who have supported us throughout the year. Huge thanks to Miss Das and Mr Parkes for your valuable contributions to Greasley.

Finally, we wish everyone a safe, restful, and joyful summer break. To our Year 6 pupils moving on to secondary school—goodbye and good luck. Go confidently into your next adventure!

Although we still have two days left, I’d like to take this moment to wish you all a fabulous summer. Have fun, make unforgettable memories, and keep safe. We look forward to welcoming you back after a well-deserved break.

Warm regards,

Mrs Bates
