Keep up to date with the latest News here.
Sadly, we have had two children run over on nearby roads over the last few weeks (either on the journey to or from school), and both have resulted in trips to A&E and injuries.
Please speak to your children about road safety and ensure that the advice of stop, look and listen is followed through.
We will be doing some work also in school, to raise the profile of road safety, but in the meantime please have those conversations with your children and model safe road safety practice when you are with them in the big wide world.
We all want our children to be safe on the journey to and from school, and we are saddened by a further incident on Friday evening.
Please take care,
Mrs Bates

Thank you to Mr Leyshon for hosting a reading workshop this afternoon. Hopefully, you all found it useful and can use some of the techniques, strategies and ideas at home.
A reminder that tomorrow is RED NOSE DAY and the we are having a joke-off in school. Remember that it's normal uniform, but you can choose to wear red noses and any accessories associated with the day :)
Please feel free to donate to this charity, using our Just Giving Page link below:

British Science Week Competition
As this week is British Science Week, we will be entering the 'British Science Week National Poster Competition'. The theme for this year is 'Connections'. This could include how body parts are connected and work together, connections between our actions and the environment, or even how the internet connection has changed the world. Children can be as creative as they like with the theme!
If your child would like to enter the poster competition, it must be one side of A4 or A3 paper with their first name and age on the back. They can do this independently or as part of a team.
The deadline for the competition is Tuesday 28th March, when entrants will be sent digitally from school. There are a range of prizes that the children can win dependent on their age. Posters are judged on creativity, content and clear communication.
Follow this link for more information and to see posters from previous winners: https://www.britishscienceweek.org/plan-your-activities/poster-competition/
Good luck! ๐ฌ๐งช๐ฉ๐ผ๐ฌ๐จ๐ผ๐ฌ๐ฅผ
A BIG shout out to all the children this week for coping with assessments. I admire all the hard work and resilience :)
KEEP IT UP, children and consider the Rainbow Values to keep in your mind, heart and soul for assessments:
ACTIVE BODY AND ACTIVE MIND
NURTURE, DEVELOP AND GROW
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
OVERCOME YOUR OBSTACLES
Not long to go now and I look forward to seeing how progress you have all made

Good afternoon, everyone! ๐๐ผ
As some of you may know, Friday 17th March is Red Nose Day and at Greasley Beauvale we will be holding our annual ‘Joke Off!’ This has always gone down really well in the past and is a fun way to engage with Comic Relief and hopefully raise some money for this deserving charity.
Your child will have the opportunity to tell a joke to their class on Friday 17th March and the joke that makes the class laugh the loudest and longest will be shared in an assembly on Friday afternoon ๐ If you wish to donate for causes in the UK and around the world, this can be made via our Just Giving page:
https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/rednoseday23-greasley-beauvale-primary-school
All donations go to the Comic Relief charity and help support in tackling important issues such as homelessness, hunger and mental health. We can’t wait to hear all the children’s jokes - there's always some absolute corkers in there! ๐
Thank you, Miss Marvin
Loved the snowmen photos on Weduc, and there was a lively buzz in the playground as the kids came out talking of snow play and parents commenting on the snow man photos they had seen! ๐
Hi Mrs Bates,
[My children] have had the best time on residential with all the activities and fun in the snow - they haven’t stopped telling us about it.
Please pass on our thanks to all the team for making it so much fun, nicely organised and also for getting them home safe. Must have been a big worry when the forecast changed and all that snow arrived, but it sounds like a trip to remember!
Have a lovely weekend!
Just wanted to say, before I forget, a massive thank you to you and to all the residential team (it can’t have been easy) for making the trip “amazing” [Child’s words]. Apologies for the middle of the night visits ๐ฌ
Hope you all have a lovely weekend and relax ๐
Thank you again
What another great end to the week. Another snow day IN school!
I have been proud of the children all week, but during the snow the children have shown the ability to follow the school rules and remember the schools 'Rainbow Values.
This morning, Steve (site manager) and I were delighted to have conversations with the children on the way to school as we were shovelling. We talked about keeping the school community safe and the children began to then discuss our values.
One child told us that they were 'Overcoming their Obstacles' as they were cold and the journey to school was slippery. Another told us to 'Believe in Ourselves' as we were shovelling the main paths into school, and I also joked that we were using our, 'Active Bodies and Minds'.
This is when you know you have something right going on in school :)
Everyone was very cheerful on the way into school, and I talked with many parents, carers and grandparents who were happy that school remained open and we were doing our best! :) We even had some help with the shovelling - thank you to Hunter and Koby.
Have a great weekend, everyone! ... and stay safe
Mrs Bates
