Reading at Home

Reading frequently at home really can make a difference to a child's progress and attainment, not just in reading but across the curriculum.

Reading books and homework diaries should be brought into school and taken home daily.

Children are allocated a coloured book-band based on their reading attainment and they are encouraged to choose their own book from this band. When they have finished reading a book, children can change their books at certain times during the school day. They may sometimes be encouraged to reread books to support their reading fluency and comprehension.

Lending Library

Every child will have weekly access to the school's library. The children will be given the opportunity to have a browse our well resourced library and if they want to, they can chose a book to take home for the week.

Thank you for your support and happy reading!
