Autumn 1

For easy reference, here's a brief overview of the learning for this half term:

Maths – Our focus for this half-term will be multiplication and division. We will be looking at multiplication and division facts, including times tables, before moving onto formal methods of multiplication and division. 

English – We will be exploring 📖 The Story of Tutankhamun 📖, an illustrated non-fiction book about the life and rediscovery of the famous Egyptian pharaoh⚱️. We will make predictions about the text, retrieve key information and explore Tutankhamun’s family tree. 

Geography - In geography, we will be studying rivers, with a focus on the River Nile in Africa which links to our Ancient Egypt history topic. We will also be looking at the differences between the physical and human characteristics of various countries and regions. 

RE - In RE, we will be focusing on the question 'When Jesus left; what was the impact of the Pentecost?'. This will explore the importance of the Holy Spirit and Pentecost in the lives of Christian's today.

PSHE - The focus for this half-term is 'Valuing Difference'. In this topic, we will explore what people have in common and what makes them different and unique. 

History - We will be continuing to learn about Ancient Egypt and other ancient civilisations. We will explore what life was like for the Ancient Egyptians, including their beliefs, pharaohs, pyramids and the process of mummification. ⚱️
