Class 5

Welcome to Class 5's webpage!

Last week in Class 5 was fantastic - we looked at informal letters as our text type in English and have thought about food around the world lots and lots in Geography.
Our class Dojo score got to a MASSIVE 96 this week!!! (210 in total) - amazing!!

Our Star of the Week this week is......

Well done, you get to take Fuzzy home for the weekend! Have fun!

Our text type in English this week has been Postcards, which the children have loved. There is a note in the reading diaries asking if you could send your child in on Monday with an address as we will be making postcards and would love to be able to post them out to whoever your child wants it for!
In maths we have been working on place value and ordering numbers. The more practice your child gets at this the better, so any help at home would go a long way.
They have been given homework this week, the first piece is to help them practice for our spelling test on Friday 18th September and the second is some extra maths practice due in on Thursday 17th September.

On Class Dojo this week class 5 have managed to achieve a massive 64 points (114 in total)...!!!! Absolutely amazing - lets see if we can beat that next week!!

Well that's the first week done - well done Class 5 you have been great so far and as a class already have 50 points!! WOW!
As promised, our PE days have now been confirmed and they are on a Thursday and a Friday. Children need to remember to have their PE kits for then. Also, our Tuck Shop day will be a Tuesday. As children will be taking responsibility for their own money, please try and bring it in either a purse, an envelope or a clear money bag.

From next Friday, the children in Class 5 will be able to nominate one person who they feel has been really kind or helpful to them for Star of the Week. We shall then pick a nomination from the pot and whoever it is will be able to take home the newly named 'Fuzzy' for the weekend! 'Fuzzy' is a very shy but adventurous Monkey who will love spending quality time with the children at home (or away!!) 'Fuzzy' comes with his own exercise book, as he loves his adventures to be written down so he can remember them forever..! However - Fuzzy cannot write , so whichever lucky child gets to take him home has to make sure they write down all their adventures for him!!!

I am excited to see who the first person is that gets to take Fuzzy home!!

Welcome to year 2!
Our Class Teacher is Miss Wood and our teaching assistants are Mrs Scott and Miss Hardy.
I cannot wait to meet you all again in September and start what I know is going to be an amazing year! Miss Wood has been working hard in the holidays to make sure the classroom looks fantastic for your return (see if you recognise any of the work!!). She has also been working to make sure we have some really interesting and enjoyable things to learn this year!

Please ensure you have your PE kit ready to be used by the W/C 7th September - our exact PE days will be confirmed shortly. In year 2 you will be given one piece of homework every week (On Fridays) which needs to be completed and handed in the following Thursday for marking. Weekly spellings are also given on Fridays, ready for our test the following Friday.
