In September 2011, pupils moved into the brand new Greasley Beauvale Primary School building off Dovecote Road, Newthorpe. This £6m building replaced the school's older accomodation split across two sites: the "New Site" 1960s building (formerly Greasley Beauvale Junior School) and the Grade II listed "D.H.Lawrence Site" at Mill Road (formerly Greasley Beauvale D. H. Lawrence Infant School).
The photo gallery below charts the journey from the historic buildings to the new. All photos were taken by Mr Mick Szpetman, the school's Site Manager throughout the build.
Such a momentous development obviously attracted much media attention. The links at the bottom of the page are a record of the press coverage at the time.
