Yellow 1

WELCOME TO CLASS YELLOW 1

I hope that everyone has a good break, recharged your batteries and that you're ready for a fun and busy half term! We have a lot to squeeze in over the next 5 weeks.

This term our topic is 'Let's go to the seaside '. We will be basing a lot of work around 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch'. Linked to the theme of the seaside, we will be looking at the location and features of our coastline during and suitable materials to make waterproof beach shelters. During RE lessons, we will be reading and discussing Noah's Ark.

As you are aware, the children in Year 2 will be taking their Key Stage 1 Tests (or “SATs”) during this half term. Children will take tests in Mathematics, Reading and Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar. The tests are a tool to help measure your child’s attainment and identify their needs as they move into key stage 2. The results are an opportunity to compare pupils nationally.

Year 2 SATs will be taking place between Tuesday 7th May and Thursday 23rd May 2019.
