We are going to continue with our focus on statistics but this week we will be looking at black graphs and looking for closely at the concept of difference. |
ENGLISH |
Now that we are familiar with the story of 'The Fox and the Stork' we will be re-writing our own version of the story. |

We will be looking at irregular past tense words such as ate, ran and caught. |

This week we will be starting our unit on statistics. We will learning to read and interpret data display in bar charts and pictograms. |
ENGLISH |
We will be reading the story of 'The Fox and the Stork' and we will be writing a letter from the fox to the stork to apologise for playing a nasty trick. |
GRAMMAR AND PUNCTUATION |
We will be revisiting how to spell some words in their contracted form and these words will be in our spelling test on Friday too. |

Our topic this half term is 'Animals, including humans'. This week we will be describing how humans change as the grow and setting up a test to find out if children get faster as they get older. |

WHAT WE ARE UP TO THIS WEEK
Spring 1 / Week 1 / 8th – 12th January 2018
MATHS |
This week we will be starting our unit on division. We are going to start by looking at sharing objects into equal groups. Once we are confident doing this, we will move on to more formal division problems. |
ENGLISH |
We are starting our topic on Fables. We will look at the features of fables and the role of animals in fables. By the end of the week, we will have predicted and written an ending to a popular fable. |
GRAMMAR AND PUNCTUATION |
We will be revisiting the use of subordinating conjunctions to extend our sentences. |
PE |
On Wednesday we will be starting or unit on striking and field games. Our Friday PE session will be used to showcase what we learnt during our previous topic. |
SCIENCE |
Our topic this half term is 'Animals, including humans'. This week we will be looking at how animals grow and change and what we call baby and adult animals. |
