Head Teacher's Blog!

Diary of the week:

The curriculum focus this week has been ‘Design Technology’ and I hope you are all clearing plenty of space on the fireplace for when the children bring their models home!  The children have loved it this week, it has been a sea of boxes, glue and paint – I love it!

We had our Year 6 SATs results on Tuesday and they are really good.  The children have done so well and we are all so proud of them.  As well as children being able to celebrate their achievements, we use these results to inform the new School Improvement Plan for September. This is achieved by looking at areas where progress was not as good as in other areas and discussing what we can learn.

The selection process for the new head teacher has taken place this week.  The governors have set a variety of challenges in addition to the formal interview, to test all aspects of the skills needed for the role.  It has been a bit strange for me, being an ‘onlooker’.  At the point of writing this blog the final decision has not yet been announced.  Dr Louise Bramley, Chair of governors, will be in touch next week.

I am back in school on Sunday as we head off on our annual residential trip with the Year 6 children.  This year we are going to PGL, where we will be taking part in a multitude of activities.  I will be back in school later in the week, as I am swapping half way through with Miss McKellar.

I look forward to seeing you next week
