The World of Roald Dahl

We will be reading some of the books that Roald Dahl has written and using these as a stimulus for our own writing and other cross-curricular work such as Art, Science and DT.

WHAT WE ARE UP TO THIS WEEK

Summer 2 / Week 6 / 9TH July – 13th July 2018

This week is Aspirations Week. We will have a variety of visitors who will talk to the children about their careers and what training or experience they have that has enabled them to do this.

We will be discussing the meaning of the word ‘aspiration’ before moving on to looking at the process of applying for a job. We will end the week by looking at the concept of budgeting.

MATHS

Practising recall of times tables, number bonds and counting backwards and forwards in multiplies of 2, 5 and 10

Paired reading of historical facts and a focus on reading pace and intonation

OUTDOOR – Sports Day practice – relays and running in your lane

HISTORY

During History Week we will be looking at significant historical nurses (Florence Nightingale, Mary Seacole and Edith Cavell)
