Welcome to Class 11!
Another week flies by and we have had the opportunity this week to look at South America and some of its physical characteristics. In particular, we were able to create our own fact files on the Atacama desert in Chile and also the Angel Falls in Venezuela.
In English we have been looking at figurative language and identifying similes, metaphors and also personification. We then had the chance to write our own sentences with these techniques when we were describing an Earthquake. We had some real personification pros in our class!
In Maths, we have been looking at how to round to the nearest 10, 100, 1000, 10,000 and even 100,000! We have also been able to use our rounding skills to help us make sensible estimations for a range of number sentences.
In P.E we had some superb long jump experts, both from a standing start as well as a run up.
Congratulations to Matthew and Archie who were in Gold Book this week. A superb start to the year! Keep this up boys!
