Sport Day – Cancelled!

Unfortunately we have had to cancel Sports Day this year due to the weather forecast being rain for this afternoon. The children can still come in their PE kits as they will be partaking in some competitive sports activity at some point during the day.

Thank you for your continued support.

Cricket League

Greasley Beauvale’s cricket team have been competing in a cricket league every Thursday at Eastwood Cricket Club. The Greasley Beauvale team have been at the top of the cricket league for some time and finished joint top with Eastwood Cricket Club. It was decided as Greasley Beauvale were beaten by Eastwood Cricket Club last night, that they would have the trophy this year.

Well done to all those children who have taken part this year, you have played brilliantly and should be really proud of yourselves.

On Sunday 11th July two cricket teams will be taking part in a cricket tournament at Eastwood Cricket Club – Good Luck Guys!

For commentary and scores from the cricket league and the Sunday tournament, see the Broxtowe School Sports Partnership website, click on Family News.

Vocational week – Owl experience with Mr Aherne

Here are some pictures of the children enjoying their owl experience during vocational week 2010 with Mr Aherne and Bob Morley from The Owl Experience in Risley, Derbyshire.

We flew, fed and learned about ‘Spike’ – a European Eagle Owl; ‘Rocky’ – the Barn Owl, which is Britain’s rarest owl; ‘Twit’ – a Tawny Owl, which is Britain’s most common owl and ‘Gizmo’ – the White Faced Scops Owl, who eats insects.

Lastest News from Gosport – 2pm

Last day from the IOW

Well, we had a great night bowling, I’d like to say I thrashed them all, but I didn’t.  We all slept really well but I think the late nights and early mornings are catching up with us!

We are leaving the hotel now to get the Ferry at 9.30am and then we are off to HMS Alliance Submarine Museum at Gosport.

Will be in touch later, Mrs Chambers

Thursday – IOW update

Its a bit cooler today but dry, really enjoyed this morning at Osbourne House, home of Queen Victoria and now we are walking down to Swiss Cottage, a miniture house for her children.

This afternoon we are off to Alum Bay for Glass Blowing and shopping – the childrens behaviour remains superb, we are very, very proud of them.

A couple of children were homesick last night – this may have been brought on by the excitement of the Theatre and the Talent Contest, which proved interesting.

Looking forward to Bowling tonight, will keep you up to date.

If you haven’t already text your telephone number to the school mobile, please do so.  I will send you a text when we are at Junction 24 of the M1, to advise you of our estimated time of arrival.

Feelin hot hot hot in the IOW at 2pm

It must be hot , Mrs Gear has stripped down to her vest and shorts and wanted everyone to know how hot it is.
We are having an amazing day at Robin Hill, one of the best places I’ve ever been, the children will be exhausted as they are just running from one thing to another. We are off to the Theatre tonight, I hope it’s good otherwise we will all be alseep! The childrens behaviour is continuing to be superb, I’m so proud.
I’m on bag duty (sitting with all the bags!) – Mr Young and Mrs Gear are with a group on the Toboggan Run and Mr Shipman and a group are on the Pirate Ship and they have all been putting on their suncream.
Must go now – I need to re-apply my suncream!! Will be in touch tomorrow,

Good morning from the IOW

The children took some waking this morning, lots of grunts and groans to get them up for the 8am breakfast!! Having said that the sun is shining and children are applying their suncream before we go to Robin Hill Adventure Park for the day. We had a great time on the beach last night playing football, in the sea or just reading a book, many local people commented on the childrens behaviour, fantastic. Dare I say it, but they are all sleeping really well!! Mrs Chambers

IOW Update

Well the sun is shining! Even Mrs Gear has taken her coat off! Children are having a ball on the rides, off to Amazon World this afternoon to see a brand new baby Ant eater. The childrens behaviour is excellent, Mrs Chambers is so proud of them all.
