Year 6 Homework 2nd July, to be handed in 7th July

Numeracy

We have been studying area (the amount of space taken up by an object) and perimeter (the distance all the way around a shape). Year 6 have been given a sheet to solve some area and perimeter problems.

Literacy

Year 6 are to continue activities set out in the booklet (given out as the last piece of literacy homework) They should now be completing week 2. If they have completed week 2 because they are fast and efficient! they can have a week off homework or they can go onto week 3 as this will be set next week.

Homework for 23rd June 2010

Hallo year 6.
Homework this week is the frog challenge sheet and week 1 and 2 of the playpark project. If you lose the sheets Miss Fitch has spares. This homework is due in on wednesday 23rd.
Don’t forget next week is Vocational week so you must bring your pe kits and appropraite outdoor clothing. You can check the weather on BBCweather.co.uk.
I have just realised that we need to change Mrs Stevenson’s name on the website so will go and work out how to do that.

Half term Homework to be handed in Monday14th June.

Literacy
Design a poster for your blu-tack advert. Remember to use persuasive advertising language e.g. Terms and conditions apply-only available at…, a slogan, mascot, keep it bold.
You can do this on the computer or on paper.

Numeracy
Puzzles sheets-given out in class.
Top tip: Use a table to solve the crocodile problem.

As the children have worked so hard for their SATs this week, we thought we’d give them a week off homework.
